Optimal humidity essential for health and damage prevention!
Humidity is crucial for an optimal indoor climate. When the air in indoor spaces is too humid, quality of life can be severely affected by mould spores, allergens and respiratory problems. Daily household activities such as cooking, taking a shower or using a dishwasher or washing machine can increase the humidity in the home to well above the normal level of 45-55% relative humidity.
Too much moisture in indoor air creates an unhealthy indoor environment and can lead to problems such as moisture build-up damage, bad odours and mould.
Dehumidifying indoor air using condensation technology
The condensation dryer is the type of dehumidifier most commonly used and that can be used in a wide temperature range. This type of dehumidifier draws in air after which it passes a cooling element. This cools the moist air in a very short time, allowing the air to condense (liquefy). The condensed moisture is collected in the water tank or can be drained directly by connecting a drain hose.
The dehumidified air that remains is reheated by a condenser and then blown out by the dehumidifier.
Peltier element for electronic dehumidification
A Peltier element is an electrical component that can be used to dehumidify the air. The Peltier element makes one side of the element very hot and the other very cold. This condenses the drawn-in, moist air after which the moisture can be collected in the water tank or discharged directly by connecting a drain hose.
Support for laundry drying!
Clean Air Optima® dehumidifiers support the drying of your laundry. As dehumidifiers drawn in and blow out air, they help to create good air circulation in the laundry room. The dehumidifier also gives off some heat in the laundry room when operational. The combination of the two creates a laundry-drying effect. When compared to a tumble dryer, this is at the same time a very energy-saving and environmentally friendly method of laundry drying.
The Clean Air Optima® pre-filter captures large dust particles such as dust fibres and lint from the laundry room, and the activated carbon filter neutralises odours. The negative ions produced by the ioniser during the laundry drying process also have a strong anti-static effect, which has a positive effect on laundry drying.
Clean Air Optima® dehumidifiers ensure avoidance of:
• Mould: Mould and fungus need moisture to grow. Reduces humidity, eliminating the main cause of mould growth.
• Reduced bacterial growth: When humidity is kept below 50%, the environment needed for propagation of bacteria is absent.
• Corrosion: Iron and steel will not rust when the air has a relative humidity below 50%.
• Condensation: No condensation forms on surfaces when the air has a dew point that is below the surface temperature.
• Reduction of odour transfer: Bad odours are drastically reduced when relative humidity is kept below 60%.
• Damage to wooden interior parts: High humidity can cause wooden parts to permanently deform as wood absorbs moisture.
